EirGrid to Host Power Link Briefing

EirGrid has partnered with Wexford Chamber to bring you a free informational Breakfast Briefing on Wednesday 23rd October 2013 at 7.30am in The Farmer’s Kitchen, Rosslare Road, Wexford.

The Grid Link Project is an estimated €500 million project planned by EirGrid to upgrade the electricity grid that will deliver a wide range of benefits to the national and regional economies. The development will involve the construction of a new power line linking Leinster and Munster, which is designed to ensure a secure and reliable electricity supply and provide a platform for economic growth, as well as supporting sustainable & clean energy in the region.

Wexford Chamber CEO, Madeleine Quirke said, “Wexford is recognised as a strong energy hub and the GridLink Project will ensure that it continues to be well-connected, with a strong and secure electricity supply long into the future, making it an attractive place to invest. The development provides many opportunities for entrepreneurs and obviously employment in the region both in the planning and building phase but most importantly in the growth opportunities when the infrastructure is in place.”

Wexford Chamber and EirGrid are running this public information briefing to inform people about the project, the need for it and its benefits, what work has been done to date, the latest developments in relation to corridor options and to hear the views of the Wexford business community.

Breakfast will be provided. This event is open to members of the public as well as members of Wexford Chamber.

Bookings can be made by contacting Wexford Chamber on 053 9122226 or by emailing John Dempsey on enquiries@wexfordchamber.ie.
