YOUnique Ceremonies is proud to announce the launch of Ceremonies at Sea, an innovative and deeply meaningful service that allows families to honour their loved ones by returning their ashes to nature.
This service, which will operate from March until October, offers a peaceful and ecological way to celebrate a life well-lived, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Irish coastline. Celebrant Anne-Marie Hollowed Murray will conduct the ceremony, celebrating the gift of your loved one in a uniquely personal way.
A Journey to the Heart of Nature
Departing from the idyllic harbour of Kilmore Quay, Ceremonies at Sea takes place aboard the Celtic Lady 2, which will navigate the serene waters to the nearby Saltee Islands. Upon arrival, the vessel will drop anchor in a tranquil setting, offering a moment of reflection and connection with the natural world.
YOUnique Ceremonies offers a Ceremony as Unique as Your Loved One
Each ceremony is a personal and intimate tribute, allowing family and close friends to gather in a calm, respectful environment. The ashes of the departed are gently laid upon the open waters, symbolising the return of their spirit to the vast and eternal ocean. The sea, a powerful emblem of endless journeys and limitless horizons, becomes a final resting place where memories flow freely with the tides and winds.
An Ecological and Sustainable Farewell
Accompanied by the sounds of the sea and its abundant wildlife, the ceremony is designed to be a reflective and healing experience. A fully compostable wreath is also laid upon the water’s surface, further honouring the memory of the departed in a way that is harmonious with the environment.
Booking and Availability
Ceremonies at Sea is available from March until October, with bookings now open. Families are encouraged to contact YOUnique Ceremonies to discuss their specific needs and preferences, ensuring that each ceremony is tailored to their wishes.

About YOUnique
YOUnique Ceremonies is led by Anne-Marie Hollowed-Murray, a professional celebrant based in County Wexford. She performs bespoke ceremonies that reflect people’s personality and core values, working to design a ceremony YOUnique to the participant’s individuality. The many types of milestone ceremonies are growing in popularity from graduations, book launches, retirements, professional achievements, and the more increasingly popular non-religious replacements for those not wishing to participate in the traditional religious ceremonies, first holy communion and confirmation.
