Chambers Ireland promoting growth and sustainability

On Wednesday, September 25th, Chamber CEO Paula Roche and President Lorcan Kinsella represented County Wexford Chamber at three significant Chambers Ireland events.

Chambers Ireland Pre-Budget Lobby

At the Pre-Budget Lobby, Chambers Ireland presented its Pre-Budget submission, under five Sustainable Development Goal headings.

Chambers Ireland and its affiliated Chambers, including County Wexford Chamber, have signed up to promote these five SDG.

  • SDG 5: Gender Equality
  • SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic and Economic Growth
  • SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
  • SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
  • SDG 13: Climate Action

Budget 2025 Priorities

Under these headings, Chambers Ireland’s priorities are:

  • SDG 5: Childcare, and gender equality
  • SDG 8: Developing and attracting talent, business supports, trade, tourism
  • SDG 9: Planning reform, essential infrastructure investment, transport networks, and fostering innovation
  • SDG 11: Housing development, optimising building stock, modern methods of construction, and vibrant cohesive communities
  • SDG 13: Energy security, renewable energy generation, and decarbonisation

Chambers Ireland Board appointments

At the Chambers Ireland AGM, four Chamber CEOs were formally approved as new directors on the Chambers Ireland board. These were: Paula Roche, County Wexford Chamber, John Hurley (Kilkenny), Jenny Beresford (Dungarvan and West Waterford), and Toni Forrester (Letterkenny).

Sustainable Business Impact Awards

Finally, the Chambers Ireland Sustainable Business Impact Awards 2024 celebrated excellence across 14 categories. The Awards showcase best practice in sustainable development and social responsibility undertaken by companies of all sizes across Ireland. The UN Sustainable Development Goals are at the heart of these Awards, celebrating sustainable business practices and championing Chambers Ireland’s alignment with the Goals.
