New Ross Credit Union donates €35,000 to charities

More than €35,000 has been donated to charities and community groups, thanks to contributions from New Ross Credit Union members.

 

A presentation night was held in the New Ross branch last week where Sponsorship/Third World Funding groups funding was awarded to successful applicants and cheques were presented to them individually.

 

‘We have given over €35,500 to the local clubs, bands, groups, schools, parishes and organisations, which were successful with their application,’ a Credit Union spokesperson said. ‘We would like to thank everyone who applied and we would like to thank all the people that adhered to all the Covid-19 guidelines upon receiving their cheque.’

 

The following applicants were awarded the Sponsorship/Third World Funding: Medecins Sans Frontieres, Fr Sean Devereux (Gambia), Rosbercon Parish, St Mary’s Community Hall, Geraldine O Hanrahans GAA Club, Tullogher Camogie club, Tullogher Rosbercon GAA club, New Ross District Pipe Band, St. Michael’s Theatre, Kennedy College, South West Wexford Family Resource Centre and Raheen Community Development Group.

 

In total €35,500 was given to the successful applicants during the presentation night.
