Wexford Home Preserves Wins Prestigious 3-Star Great Taste Award for Blackcurrant Jam along with a Galaxy of Stars!

New Ross, Co. Wexford – Wexford Home Preserves is celebrating a major win this week after being awarded a coveted 3-star accolade at the 2025 Great Taste Awards – the highest honour in the world’s most trusted international food and drink accreditation scheme – for its handmade Blackcurrant Jam.

In addition, they won two 2 star Great Taste Awards - for their Sicilian Clementine Marmalade and 2 stars for their No Added Sugar Blackcurrant Jam and 1 star Great Taste Awards for their Raspberry Jam, for their Pink Grapefruit Marmalade and for their Irish Beetroot Relish. Wexford Home Preserves makes products for Dunnes Stores Simply Better range too. Their Simply Better Handmade Seville Marmalade has been awarded 2 gold stars and their Simply Better Irish Blackberry Preserve has been awarded 1 star. 

This year, 14,340 entries from 110 countries were blind-tasted by expert panels of chefs, buyers, food writers and retailers. It is difficult enough to win 1 Great Taste star but fewer than 2% of all entries were awarded the top honour of 3 stars, making this win an exceptional achievement for the small family-run business.

This is not the first time Wexford Home Preserves has hit the top tier at Great Taste – it is now the fourth time the company has received a 3-star rating in its history, cementing its reputation as one of Ireland’s most respected artisan producers. Previously this small family producer was awarded three stars for their hand-made Seville marmalade twice and once for their Simply Better Handmade Irish Blackcurrant Jam for Dunnes Stores.
