NEW BEGINNINGS AT NEWBAY HOUSE

-Couples Cross The Threshold Of The Recently Refurbished Newbay House For Officially Opening With ‘So Sue Me’ Suzanne Jackson-

Tuesday 30th April: Ireland’s sunny South East has for years been a desired destination of wedding couples, and with the recent unveiling of the new look Newbay House Wexford, they now have a stunning venue to dream about. On Sunday guests were welcomed to the Wexford Wedding Extravaganza which marked the reopening of NewbayHouse, one of Wexford’s oldest and most exclusive properties. Brides and grooms-to-be, along with their friends and family members attended a one-off, unique wedding event that showcased the stunning country house and surrounding gardens.

With a colourful past that dates back as far as the 17th century, Newbay House is steeped in history and Wexford tradition. The building and grounds in their current form were first built during the 1820s and in spite of various tweaks and changes over the course of almost two centuries, the property still maintains a sense of grandeur that is synonymous with a stately home. It’s luxury and opulence has once again been revived, thanks to a significant €2.8 million investment that has restored Newbay House to its former glory. Set on 16 acres of gardens and woodland on the outskirts of Wexford Town and just two hours from Dublin, this lovingly restored country house looks set to become one of the country’s most desirable wedding and occasion venues.

Speaking at the launch Robert Millar, General Manager of Newbay House commented, “After months and months of planning, designing, restoration and refining, we are extremely excited to finally unveil the stunning new-look Newbay House to the public. While the launch spells good news for wedding couples, corporates looking for a luxury event venue or people looking to mark a special occasion, the property’s restoration means a great deal to the Wexford community, with the creation of 20 new jobs and a further 20 positions expected to be filled in the coming two years.”

To mark this official opening, woman of the moment ‘So Sue Me’, Suzanne Jackson, added an extra touch of sparkle to the exclusive event, by sharing her top wedding tips and tricks. Attendees were also treated to mouthwatering Afternoon Tea and a fashion show courtesy of Wexford’s Runaway Bride; winner of Wedding Boutique of the Year 2018 and the store responsible for dressing Suzanne on her own big day in August of 2017.

Many of those who attended the event were keen to get a glimpse at the full extent of the €2.8 million refurbishment and availed of a tour of the house and gardens after the welcome drinks reception. This luxury country house has 10 period bedrooms, providing a perfect retreat for wedding parties, and boasts an opulent bridal suite with traditional freestanding bath and rich textures – which really was the event showstopper.  Following these guided tours there was a beauty segment with Blogger and MUA Susan Ryan, and hair demonstration courtesy of Hair by Bonnie. There was also a wide range of wedding exhibitors such as Lily Bloom Florist, Waters Videography, Wedding Creations Stationary and Jenny’s Cupcakes. Guests to the official Newbay House opening didn’t go home empty handed as each attendee was gifted a deluxe jam-packed goodie bag.

Commenting at the launch event, Weddings & Events Manager Rebecca McGuire said, “We are delighted with the number of people who have joined us at our Wexford Wedding Extravaganza today. I wish to say a sincere thank you to everyone who came along and indeed a particular word of thanks to our special guests Susan Ryan and Hair by Bonnie. The house, the grounds and the overall atmosphere and setting is really something that needs to be seen and experienced to be believed, so we are thrilled that so many future brides and grooms have been able to get a glimpse into what an unforgettable wedding venue Newbay House truly is!”
