Over the past few months, County Wexford Chamber has had the valuable opportunity to welcome members of An Garda Síochána to our district chapter meetings across County Wexford – in New Ross, Gorey, Enniscorthy, and Wexford town.

These sessions are essential for raising local business concerns, and helping us advocate more effectively at national level. They also serve to strengthen ties between the business community and local Gardaí, enabling open discussion around key issues like safety, policing needs, and crime prevention.

Key messages from Gardaí in County Wexford:
* Always report crime or concerns via 999 – more data leads to stronger policing support
* Sergeant Eddie Wilde, Crime Prevention Officer, is available to speak directly with your business – please reach out for support

We also had the opportunity e to connect with Liam O’Donovan, recently appointed Community Safety Coordinator at Wexford County Council. Liam is leading the creation of a new Community Safety Group, bringing together voices from across sectors to shape local safety strategy - a welcome and progressive move from the Department of Justice.

Huge thanks to the Gardaí who have so openly engaged with us and our members:
Superintendent Jarlath Duffy – South Wexford
Superintendent David O’Sullivan – North Wexford
Sergeant Eddie Wilde – Crime Prevention Officer
Inspector Liam Kavanagh – New Ross
Sergeant Evelyn Reddan – Gorey
Sergeant Laura Bolger – Wexford
Sergeant Caroline O’Donnell – Enniscorthy

These partnerships matter – and we’re committed to continuing this important dialogue on behalf of our members.
