County Wexford Chamber Joins Chambers Ireland Delegation to Brussels
County Wexford Chamber CEO Paula Roche recently joined fellow chamber leaders on a high-impact delegation to Brussels, organised by Chambers Ireland. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to engage directly with EU policymakers and advocate for the priorities of Irish businesses at a European level.
European Parliament of Enterprises 2025
A key highlight of the trip was attending the European Parliament of Enterprises 2025 in the iconic hemicycle of the European Parliament. This inspiring event brought together over 700 participants from 32 countries, led by Eurochambres Chief Executive Ben Butters and President Vladimir Dlouhý.
The debate and voting sessions focused on three critical themes for European businesses:
- Supporting EU enterprises amid growing global trade uncertainty
- Strengthening the single market to enhance competitiveness
- Securing clean and affordable energy for a successful green transition
Learning from European Best Practice
Day two included a visit to Voka – Vlaams Netwerk van Ondernemingen, representing seven Flemish chambers and over 18,000 members. The visit showcased an impressive model of collaboration and advocacy in action, offering valuable insights for Irish chambers.
The delegation also met with the Permanent Representation of Ireland to the EU, where discussions centred on upcoming legislation and Ireland’s forthcoming EU Council Presidency. These conversations are vital to ensuring that the interests of County Wexford businesses are reflected in EU policy-making.
Strengthening Our Collective Voice
CEO Paula Roche emphasised the importance of such engagements:
“Connecting with EU institutions and fellow chambers strengthens our ability to represent our members effectively. Collaboration at this level ensures that County Wexford’s business community has a voice in shaping the future of European enterprise.”
County Wexford Chamber extends its thanks to Chambers Ireland for organising another impactful delegation and looks forward to continuing this important work on behalf of its members.
