14 August 2025
County Wexford Chamber has today published its Pre-Budget Submission 2026, setting out the key priorities needed to support economic growth, business competitiveness, and community wellbeing across the county.
Launching the submission, County Wexford Chamber CEO Paula Roche emphasised the importance of aligning national policy with local needs:
“We have worked closely with our members to identify the most pressing challenges and opportunities for County Wexford’s business community. This submission reflects their priorities - from accelerating housing delivery and upgrading transport links, to investing in Offshore Renewable Energy at Rosslare, enhancing our grid capacity, and developing the South East Technological University Wexford campus. These measures, alongside greater supports for SMEs, will help our county grow sustainably and remain competitive.”
Key recommendations in the County Wexford Chamber Pre-Budget Submission include:
- Prioritised investment in sustainable infrastructure, including Offshore Renewable Energy at Rosslare and transport upgrades, to enhance competitiveness.
- Expanded supports for local enterprise, particularly SMEs and start-ups, to drive innovation, job creation, and access to growth resources.
- Increased investment in education and research, with a focus on developing the South East Technological University Wexford campus to fuel regional growth.
- Accelerated investment in housing, to support the increasing demand.
- Multiannual funding for water and wastewater treatment infrastructure to support housing and commercial development.
- Grid upgrades to meet growing energy demand and support renewable generation.
"Budget 2026 is a chance to deliver on long-standing commitments and remove the barriers holding back growth," added Roche. “We remain optimistic and are committed to working closely with our elected representatives and Government to ensure County Wexford’s potential is fully realised."
