Wexford Fringe 2015 Calling for Fringe Events Listings!

Now in its 63rd year, Wexford Fringe is calling artists, performers, choral & drama groups, singers, musicians and event co-ordinators to submit their Event Listings by Friday 17th July for inclusion in the pocket size Wexford Fringe Guide and on www.wexfordfringe.ie.

Wexford Fringe is a vibrant annual festival of music, art, drama and culture with something for everybody, offering an eclectic mix of over 300 events over 17 days including cabaret, comedy, circus, dance, film, theatre, puppetry, music, visual art and cultural activities, many of which are free to attend.

An open-access arts festival, the Fringe runs in parallel with Wexford Festival Opera from Friday 16th October to Sunday 1st November 2015.  Unlike a curated festival, the all-inclusive nature of Wexford Fringe means that anyone with a show, exhibition or cultural event is welcome to register and be part of one of Ireland’s largest Fringe Events. The result is one of the most diverse fringe festivals in Ireland, renowned for originality, imagination and quality entertainment.

Each year Wexford Chamber takes responsibility for the co-ordination and compilation of the Wexford Fringe Guide 2015, proudly sponsored (for the second year running) by ESET Ireland. ESET Ireland have been recognised as one of the top IT security experts in the South East, operating out of Westgate, Wexford since 1991.

Commenting on the up-coming festival, Richard Foley, Managing Director at ESET Ireland said “The annual Wexford Fringe Festival brings some proper metropolitan vibrancy and excitement to our town. ESET Ireland are delighted to support this event and thoroughly look forward to everything the festival has to offer this year.”

Reaching a wide audience, the Fringe Guide, which provides essential information on events, ticket information, festival tours, historical attractions and much more, will be distributed internationally, nationally and locally throughout the South East. A national PR campaign will be launched to promote the Fringe and our fully responsive website www.wexfordfringe.ie will make it possible for the public to easily access information via desktop, mobile or tablet devices and also to purchase tickets online.

Artists from Ireland and further afield will be exhibiting and participating in this year’s Fringe, with all art-forms being celebrated.  The unique combination of Arts and Cultural events at this festival attracts over 50,000 visitors annually and identifies Wexford as a ‘Forever Happening’ cultural tourism destination that features amongst the best that Ireland has to offer.

Madeleine Quirke, CEO of Wexford Chamber said “We should embrace and be proud of our Fringe. It is bringing quality, exciting and diverse arts to the region.  One of Ireland’s largest fringe events, Wexford continues to promote Wexford’s rich culture and distinct heritage on the world stage.”

The booking fee is €40 which includes an event listing in the Fringe Guide and Fringe Website. Event organisers who are looking for an inspirational environment to showcase their work to an estimated 50,000 visitors expected in Wexford this October, are asked to contact Abigail Way at Wexford Chamber on 053 9122226 or email admin@wexfordchamber.ie.  Alternatively see www.wexfordfringe.ie to download the Fringe Event Listing Form.
