Morning Seminar with Ernst & Young

Ian Collins, Partner and Head of R&D practice, EY Ireland

 

Ian is a Tax Partner with EY and head of the Research & Development (R&D) team within the tax department responsible for the overall management and quality assurance of Irish R&D tax claims. Through his role in EY he secured the first Irish Revenue pre-approval for a client in the software sector, encompassing a technical review by an industry expert engaged by Irish Revenue.

To support continued learning with R&D Ian regularly conducts training seminars and workshops on R&D eligibility and claim process on a regular basis. He has lectured extensively on the R&D regime and published multiple articles and has briefed Irish Revenue and the Department of Finance on the mechanics of the regime, as well as IBEC, IDA, Enterprise Ireland, Irish Tax Institute, Smurfit School of Business, and various Chambers of Commerce throughout the country.

 

Ross McKiernan, R&D Consultant, EY Waterford

 

Ross has experience of working across multiple sectors including technology, manufacturing and the life sciences with indigenous SMEs and multinational clients. He has intimate knowledge of the R&D landscape including incentives and supports for enterprise development, collaboration and innovation.

A technical mind-set coupled with a strong business acumen and an entrepreneurial orientation gives Ross a natural ability to identify and nurture long-term partnerships with his clients to deliver value at the bottom line.
