County Wexford Chamber launches Strategic Plan 2023-2025

On Monday, April 24, County Wexford Chamber launched its Strategic Plan 2023-2025 in Wexford Arts Centre.

The Strategic Plan outlines the vision, values, and purpose of the Chamber along with five key strategic objectives to guide the organisation’s activities and actions over the next three years.

These objectives, which are backed up by 18 actions in an associated business plan, will see the Chamber promote sustainability in business and the wider community, represent and grow its membership, advance economic development in County Wexford; encourage tourism, culture and the nighttime economy; and support workforce development and education initiatives in County Wexford.

At the launch, which was attended by key stakeholders and Chamber members, Brendan Crowley, president of County Wexford Chamber, explained that the Chamber’s overall vision is Sustainable Prosperity for All. “That entails helping to develop an economy that gives people a good quality of life whilst also taking care of the environment.”

He also outlined how the Chamber, as the largest business group in County Wexford, represents 320 businesses and 20,000 employees in the county. “That gives the Chamber a voice,” he said. Amongst other issues, the Chamber uses its voice to “lobby for infrastructure that can support growth”.

Emma Dunphy, CEO of County Wexford Chamber, said that County Wexford Chamber had grown considerably in the past two years. “At the end of 2025, we want to know that, through delivering on every aspect of this Plan, we will have initiated and influenced change that will have positively adjusted the conditions for business and the environment in which our members operate. We want to have increased our membership so that every business sector and companies of all sizes can benefit from the collaborative benefits that membership offers. We want to have played an active role in enhancing County Wexford as a centre of business excellence. And we want to work to empower and facilitate innovation and entrepreneurship in County Wexford.”

The Strategic Plan was informed by the results of an extensive consultation process with Chamber members and key stakeholders both within the county and the wider South East region. The planning and consultation process was undertaken with the assistance of Board Excellence, a leading provider of services in Ireland, the UK and internationally, designed to support and enable high-performance boards that add significant value and represent a key driver of an organisation’s performance.
