Culcita

This year Culcita has hit a very significant and important milestone.  We are celebrating 50 years in the textile and manufacturing business!!  Originally set up to manufacture and supply clothing for the tourist industry as part of a Community Development Initiative, Culcita later switched production into workwear garments.  Aer Lingus were amongst a list of high profile customers to avail of our services. A highly skilled workforce worked closely with Irish Designer Louise Kennedy to produce the newly designed Aer Lingus Cabin Crew Uniforms. Culcita continued to work in the textile industry exploring many avenues and supplying a variety of customers with quality products while always maintaining a high standard of workmanship.  This involved making high end ladies fashionwear for well known Irish Fashion Designers such as Michel Ambers, Libra Designs and Ib Jorgenson.

Paschal Bolger, CEO of Culcita has always had a keen eye and a great ability to anticipate changes in the marketplace.  Coupled with that he has had the foresight to act on these changes.  The introduction of the Furniture and Furnishing Fire Safety regulations was recognised a major business opportunity and Culcita successfully transformed itself from subcontract cushion production into a primary supplier of garden furniture and accessories directly to retailers.

Customer satisfaction through quality, design and personal service are forefront here in Culcita.  We pride ourselves on providing a service and not just a product.  We achieve this by putting the customers’ needs at the centre of our business. With a wealth of 50 year’s experience behind us in the Business, we have learned to listen to our customers, anticipate trends, advise on design and selection, source product globally at competitive prices and provide compliant ethical products.  We guarantee flexibility and excellent after sales service.

This process involves a lot of travel and precise organisation.  Our team travels globally to source and purchase the raw materials, buying directly from factories and textile mills.  From there we oversee the production and manufacture of the furniture making sure the factories adhere to all safety standards. Strict inspections and testing of the finished product are then carried out before shipping either directly to the customer or to our purpose built production and warehousing facility here in New Ross. We are at all times involved and in charge of every stage of development and production. Culcita have and always have had a very hands on approach to Business.

The Garden Furniture Industry, like so many businesses has met with many challenges over the past year.  Through Innovation, determination and old fashioned hard work we have faced these challenges head on.   Talking to customers and working with them to discover how we can achieve a positive outcome has proved very successful.  Being flexible with delivery options, top up orders and keeping the supply chain running smoothly contribute to Culcita’s continued growth.  We have maintained our manufacturing and delivery of top quality cushions and garden furniture to our Customers in the U.K and Ireland throughout. Household names like Dunnes Stores, Tesco, Aldi, ASDA all stock our products along with smaller independent garden centres and retail outlets.

The future looks bright and Culcita intend to keep growing from strength to strength through innovation, diversification, reacting and adapting to whatever challenges and opportunities come our way.

For just a moment, we can take a small breath to celebrate our 50 years of service to the retail sector and reminisce over past experiences and relish what is to come in the future –  BUT it will be business as usual here for all the team!!!!
