Dear Member

The new Employer Disability Information Service (EDI) was launched in January. The purpose of the service is to provide employers with an expert peer source of advice and information on employing and retaining staff with disabilities and to enhance the confidence and competence of individual employers in this area.

The Service  is a centrally based national resource for advice and information for employers  and is funded by the Irish government as part of the comprehensive employment strategy for people with disabilities. As you may already know Chambers Ireland, ISME and IBEC are working collaboratively on this service to ensure that it is a peer source of advice for employers.

The service comprises:

  • A helpline on a dedicated phone line providing advice and information to employers on employment of people with disabilities
  • A central web-based information resource incorporating guidance and an FAQ section, which is kept up to date publicising the service and proactive outreach to employer
  • Using the mainstream channels of the participating organisations to distribute information on the service and on matters relating to employment of people with disabilities
  • Development of networks and fora for employers to share experiences and good practice

We would appreciate if you could promote this service to your employees through your website or social media to help spread the word. I have attached a copy of the logo and the link to the website it is: WWW.CALLEDI.IE
