IRISH AMERICA FEST 2015 – Ireland’s official 4th of July Celebrations Announced

The fourth annual Irish America Celebrations in New Ross sees an action packed programme of events for Ireland’s official July 4th celebrations commencing on Friday July 3rd and running all weekend until July 5th. Irish America Fest promises to be an exciting weekend for all the family to celebrate the U.S holiday in style with events continuing throughout the weekend.

The weekend’s activities will kick off on Friday from noon, with Arts and Crafts on the Quayside, along with a Carnival and will finish off Friday night with live entertainment on the main stage with a fantastic line up of nationally renowned artists and bands including Frances Black, Sharon Shannon and The Fureys.

Saturday will be keeping in line with US traditions whereby the Declaration is read from the ‘Old State House’ in Boston, there will be a reading of the ‘Declaration of Independence’ by the ‘Town Crier’ at The Tholsel at noon. You will see New Ross businesses host some Al Fresco Dining at South Street while you enjoy live entertainment provided by local artists on stage.

The music on Saturday will be provided by the Johnny Cash and Gareth Brooks tribute band and a spectacular Fourth of July style fireworks display will, take place over the River Barrow at 10.30pm.

Joining in the festivities will be Hook Lighthouse who will host the Waterford Wolves American Football Club, as well as all day barbeques, family fun and events.

Busker’s Sunday promises to be an eclectic finale to the celebrations with a variety of musicians lining the town’s streets, adding to the festival atmosphere. A pirate Festival day will take place at Hook Lighthouse and Al Fresco dining with local businesses will take place on South Street along with Arts and Crafts on the quayside.
