The focus was on modern technology at Wexford Chamber’s first Business After Hours Networking Event of 2014 in Joyces of Wexford on Thursday 27th March.  Over 60 local business people attended this event and the networking opportunities were plentiful as always, with Chamber members doing business, swapping cards and getting referral business.

Joyces hosted a fantastic event in their impressive 16,000 sq. ft. purpose built retail unit in Clonard Retail Park, where they sell an extensive range of high quality electric goods and home appliances.

Joyces of Wexford – celebrating 70 years in business this year and serving customers since 1944, has seen many changes over the years.   Murt Senior started out by opening a hardware warehouse on North Main Street, then moving to South Main Street where he also opened a china and gift shop followed by a second appliance shop at Custom House Quay, and is now situated in Wexford Retail Park.  Now their focus is on modern technology.  Joyces of Wexford are now part of the Expert Group.

Martin Doyle, President of Wexford Chamber congratulated Derek, Murt and all the team on what could only be described as a fantastic success story.  Martin commented, “The impressive surroundings here certainly speak volumes about the continued success and commitment of Joyces to Wexford Town.”

Derek Joyce commenting at the event said “As part of our 70th Anniversary celebrations, we are delighted to host a Wexford Chamber Business After Hours event.  It is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the store to the local business community.  As always, the Business After Hours is a great opportunity to network with local business people.”

On the evening, Joyces of Wexford had experts from Apple and Samsung there to discuss the latest IT business applications and demonstrated the newest products to the market. They also had Hackett 3D Printing from Dublin who displayed a 3D printer in operation on the night – very impressive and a great talking point.

The evening ended with a business card draw and Emma Hynes of Zurich won a fantastic prize of an Epson printer sponsored by Epson.
