Online Retail Support Scheme Enterprise Ireland & Wexford Local Enterprise Office

Introducing a new online retail support scheme offered through the Department of
Enterprise Trade and Employment to encourage the retail sector in Ireland to
develop a more competitive online offer that will enable an increase in their customer
base and build a more resilient business in the domestic and global marketplace,
both online and offline.

Basic Eligibility Criteria:
• Irish based limited company
• 10 or more full time (or full-time equivalent) employees in Republic of Ireland
• they have to have an existing online shop AND a bricks and mortar shop from
where they are selling to individual consumers
(where a provider sells a combination of retail and wholesale products, or a
combination of products and services, they have to be selling at least 50%
DIRECTLY to consumers)
• they CAN have received this support ONCE previously BUT for a different
project which was FULLY COMPLETED. 3rd time applicants are not eligible.
• minimum client project expenditure €20,000

Car &vehicle dealerships, financial brokers/insurance brokers, construction trades
professionals, wholesale/resale, agriculture & fishery, pubs/hotels/coffee shops,
buying groups and businesses who are principally services providers are NOT
ELIGIBLE for this support.

Successful applicants will be awarded funding to support a maximum of 50% of the
project eligible costs of €50,000 with a maximum grant of €25,000.

Eligible Project Costs include salary costs for a company’s Internal Project
Champion, fees for external service providers to develop and implement an online
retail strategy and externally provided in-house training for the new project.
