County Wexford Chamber with the support of the Wexford People launched the “County Wexford Shop Local Vouchers” initiative September 2020, which is proving to be very popular among County Wexford consumers and County Wexford businesses.
Vouchers can be spent in any shop displaying the ‘County Wexford Shop Local Vouchers’ sticker and with over270 shops participating there is a wide choice of purchases and services ranging from clothing, jewelers, beauty, hospitality, car and household fuel and much more. A practical gift for family, friends or staff that will encourage and support our sectors. Which in turn means supporting local jobs and the livelihoods of many in our towns.
We cannot underestimate the effect that choices we make has on our local economy. Every Euro we spend locally has a multiplier effect in our community that benefits us and the local economy. We need to support and value our local shops and businesses as much as possible.
Small Benefit Exemption
Under the Revenue Commissioners approved ‘Small Benefit Exemption’ scheme, a company can award staff up to €1000, tax- free a yearr.
County Wexford Shop Local Vouchers can be used as that benefit.
During the Covid -19 crisis Revenue are allowing an employer to give this benefit more than once per year, but within the overall limit of €1000 in a year.
Unused allowance amounts cannot be carried over.
Tax-free vouchers or benefits can be used only to purchase goods or services. They cannot be redeemed for cash.
Shop Local Support Local
County Wexford Shop Local Vouchers are available in denominations of €10, €25 and €50. You can use the vouchers in all participating outlets in Gorey,New Ross and Wexford.
