Chambers Ireland has today (17/02/14) welcomed the announcement that Government Ministers will continue to travel abroad this St. Patrick’s Day to represent and sell Ireland in overseas markets.
Speaking this afternoon, Chambers Ireland Chief Executive, Ian Talbot said, “St. Patrick’s Day is the one day of the year when Ireland is thrown into the global spotlight and is shown in its most positive light. At a time when it is so important for Ireland to show its attractiveness as a place to visit and to do business, we must use every possible opportunity to highlight this across the globe. No other country in the world gets this unique promotional opportunity.”
“The ‘Promote Ireland’ initiative is a prime example of the goodwill felt around the world towards Ireland as we are welcomed into 23 different countries. We urge Government leaders to build on this goodwill and use this opportunity to promote Ireland’s best interests abroad, while recognising the need to be responsible in the amount of expense incurred,” he concluded.
