Gary Johnston, organiser of the Wexford Food and Wine Festival said:

“The 2013 festival programme has something for everyone including a crackling hog roast, cookery demonstrations, a trip back through time to see and sample food cooked in 500 BC at the Irish Heritage Park as well as the open air food producers markets dotted throughout the town.  Food artisans and many local restaurateurs will showcase the diversity and wholesomeness of locally and regionally produced food.

“We will also be welcoming a number of specialist food producers from Wales to the new ‘Welsh Tent’ as part of The Gathering Ireland 2013 so the variety and quality of food on offer will be a treat for all.”

Wexford Food and Wine Festival highlights include a one-woman comedy performance which fuses interactive wine tasting with storytelling in a warm intimate setting called, Wine Goose Chase, happening on Friday 24 May.  On Saturday 25 May you can catch the Singing Chef, Tony Carty, who can break into song at any moment as you enjoy tasty tapas.  Families can enjoy a prehistoric food experience at The Irish National Heritage Park, on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May, where cooking techniques from 500 BC will be used to create a selection of special dishes.  For further information on the event log onto
