Retailers your chance to get involved

Wexford Food Festival, now in its 6th year, is growing year on year and is now attracting food producers and visitors from near and far in their thousands.  It is fast becoming one of Ireland’s showcase festivals and is receiving great support from Faille Ireland and our local County Council.

Wexford Chamber has been involved with this Festival since the beginning but this year we feel that local retailers should be involved and should have the opportunity to benefit from the huge footfall that the Festival brings to Wexford over the weekend.   

This is an opportunity for you to showcase your business by taking part in the street market, set up a table outside your premises to sell your products, organise workshops and demonstrations, offer tastings, etc.  This will bring a whole new dimension to the Food & Wine Festival and will attract business to our town. 

This initiative has the full backing of Wexford Borough Council providing that you are registered as a participant in the Festival through Wexford Chamber.  The cost of registering is €25 for Chamber Members and €35 for non-members.  You will be included on any promotional material, online and on all social media activity connected with the Festival.  There will be newspaper editorial, radio interviews and support from Failte Ireland online to promote this Festival. 

This is our town and we have to make sure that we are the best at what we do.  I would ask each one of you to please consider participating in this year’s festival by doing whatever you can to really get Wexford recognized as one of the best ‘Foodie Towns’ in Ireland.

Workshops and Demonstrations Taking Place at various venues throughout the town

Wine tasting – 1 hour tasting and talk on wine

Meat – demonstration on butchery/Black Pudding/Pork Curing & Charcuterie

Growing vegetables in a small garden

Live Cooking Demonstrations, for example

Any of the restaurants/special lunch dish

Street Food

At various locations throughout the town , restaurants/cafés will be offering tasting dishes from their premises.  All of these dishes will sell outside your premises for either €2.50 or €5.00.  Examples could be 6 mussels, beef cheek, ice-cream, slide burger, local products/artisan products.  The idea is that people just get a taste and move on.  Anything and everything should be included.

BE LOCATED IN SELSKAR AND IN SOUTH MAIN STREET 

Street Market

In order to link up Selskar and South Main Street, we want to create a Street Market for the Food Festival.   

Provided that your business is associated with food (however loosely!) you can set up a table outside your premises to sell product over the weekend.

Aprons, Table Cloths, Napkins, etc.

Food and Beverage 

The trestle table will be no longer than 10 ft and no wider than 2 ft and will be situated directly outside your own premises and behind the bollards.  Once you have registered with the Chamber, you will be issued with a permission/licence by Wexford Borough Council which will permit you to participate in the Festival for the 2 days.  You must extend your own public liability to cover the outdoor activity for the period and indemnify Wexford Borough Council.
