OR Bespoke – Hand Crafted Furniture designed for you

ORBespoke was established in November 2019 by Aidan Byrne an experienced craftsman who trained in GMIT Letterfrack as a Furniture Designer & Maker.  His passion for working with wood started as a child under the watchful eye of his maternal grandfather who the company is named after.  The OR in ORBespoke stands for O’Reilly.

Since opening his business Aidan has worked on a variety of projects ranging from residential and commercial to corporate awards and gifts.  His work was recently featured on RTE’s ‘Home of the year 2022’ where he completed a biophilic designed home office workstation and wine cellar for an Architect in Rathfarnham (Dublin).  It is the first house featured in episode 6 if you would like to check it out.

Aidan has worked with several business owners to design and fit-out their shops and office spaces, recently he has worked with Whitmore jewellers main street Gorey and Doyle Design Dublin a bespoke jewellery maker in Georges street arcade on a full retail and workshop fit-out.

Aidan is currently developing a range of freestanding pieces which will launch later this year. The first piece will be a wall mounted whiskey cabinet, just big enough to hold that special bottle and a couple of glasses, this will be a limited edition production run and will be available to purchase through his website www.orbespoke.ie

Aidan also designs and crafts high quality custom awards / trophies.  He has worked with a variety of businesses such as Wexford Local Enterprise Office, Killowen Farm, the IWIN ‘Irish Wood and Interior Network’ and Greenman Investments (Dublin/Germany).

Aidan uses wind felled Irish hardwoods and locally sourced materials; where these are not available or suitable for a project he uses FSC (Forest stewardship council) certified materials.  Last year Aidan completed the LEO green for micro program and discovered his van was producing the highest amount of Co2 within the business, to help reduce emissions and fuel consumption he purchased a new van in April this year. Aidan is currently undertaking the Lean for micro program from LEO Wexford to further improve efficiency and organisation within the business.

Aidan will be taking commissions from September onwards and would be happy to discuss your project with you.  Feel free to get in touch as soon as possible as bespoke projects do take time do design and source materials.  He looks forward to working with you on your special project.
