Ambassador sees Wexford as ideal location for Indian companies seeking Euro base

The red carpet was well and truly rolled out at the offices of County Wexford Chamber recently, as the staff there welcomed Indian Ambassador to Ireland Mr Sandeep Kumar. The purpose of Mr Kumar’s visit was to seek out financial opportunities and to seek to strengthen bonds between India and Wexford, along with looking at how best to overcome current challenges. Ireland is currently home to over 45,000 Indian people, with many working in the key sectors such as ICT, Healthcare, Engineering and Financial and Wexford too has an active Indian population.

Speaking after the meeting, Deputy CEO of County Wexford Chamber Emma Dunphy said that Mr Kumar seemed impressed by what Wexford has to offer.

‘We discussed County Wexford being an exceptional Businesses location,’ she said. ‘There was a commitment from the Chamber to be able to expand and strengthen relationships with countries outside of the European Union, with Rosslare Europort offering direct access to mainland Europe. We went on to visit Rosslare after our meeting.’

Ms Dunphy says that following a fruitful meeting, the Ambassador is keen to promote Wexford as an attractive destination for Indian companies looking to invest. He agreed that Wexford has a lot of of positives in terms of being a business hub for businesses seeking a European base.
