Row your own Coracle Boat

The Irish National Heritage Park will be offering their visitors the opportunity to ‘Row your Own Coracle Boat’ this August.

For thousands of years people in Ireland have built small round boats called ‘coracles’ for moving about on rivers and lakes, and for laying fish traps and nets. Made originally of wooden rods and skins, these little boats were prized for their buoyancy and manoeuvrability. Now’s YOUR chance to try one out! Our coracles have been made to the original design (but of fiberglass, for safety), and handle just like the traditional boats. See how you get on, under the practiced eye of our professional instructor – it’s not as easy as it looks! Great fun for kids and adults alike!

Pay and play €10 per hour booking essential as limited numbers allowed per hour.
