WEXFORD CHAMBER SHOP LOCAL VOUCHERS ON SALE

Wexford Chamber Shop Local Vouchers were launched in the Bull Ring Market last Friday 19th July. Our local market is a great example of all that is good about Wexford.  Everything from antiques, fruit & vegetables, breads, cakes, coffees, herbs, books, clothes, toys and much much more are on offer.  A wonderful choice of products which complements the fantastic retail experience that exists throughout Wexford town.   Wexford  Chamber will be selling the Wexford Chamber Shop Local Vouchers in the Bull Ring every Friday from 10 – 2  and vouchers  will also be on sale daily at the Chamber Offices on Hill Street. Vouchers are available in denominations  of €50, €25 and €10.

“Shopping locally  supports jobs by generating revenue and supporting salaries which can be spent in Wexford .  Our local economy has to be given every chance to thrive and by shopping  locally we are supporting each other as well as  getting really good value for money.  Local shops have a wonderful range of products and gifts available and the further we travel to shop the greater the cost to ourselves” said Madeleine Quirke, CEO Wexford Chamber.

The survival of our retail shops in Wexford is dependent on  customers – so if you want a vibrant Main Street, where people can socialize as well as shop we need to encourage ‘shop local’.  None of us want to be faced with losing shops or services but unless we all make a concerted effort to support local unfortunately this a consequence.  Shopping locally helps maintain and create jobs providing hundreds of people with a livelihood.  In addition to this, our local shops and businesses are so generous in their support for local charities and good causes.  A financial return for our community in terms of support for schools, clubs and community events.

“We cannot underestimate the effects of the choices that we make on our local economy. Every Euro we spend locally has a multiplier effect in our community that benefits us and our local economy.. The temptation to travel that bit further from our region for perceived savings may be there in many people’s minds but Wexford Chamber  believes  that these so-called savings are not beneficial for the region, in which we all live and work” said Madeleine.
