New Chamber of Commerce President elected

The AGM of Wexford Chamber took place in Wexford Enterprise Centre last Wednesday, 14th December 2011, during which Fleur Creed, Genesis Business College, was elected as President having held the position of Vice President since 2010.

Outgoing President Sean Mythen, AdSum Training & Consultancy, commented on the challenging year that all businesses have experienced and how their resilience and steely determination has been a dominant theme throughout the year, “It is vital that we that we continue to work together to maximize opportunities for all our members.”

Newly elected President, Fleur Creed, commented “I’m delighted to serve as President of Wexford Chamber and look forward to lending my support to both CEO Madeleine Quirke and Events and Communications Manager Orla Nolan. Wexford Chamber is a very strong business association and through our various events, activities and collaboration with the local authorities and other representative groups we aim to continue to support all of our members in helping to make Wexford a better place to do to business.”

The voluntary board of Wexford Chamber represents business sectors including finance, tourism, education, manufacturing and retail, ensuring that Wexford Chamber is well positioned to address the needs of our diverse membership base now and into the future.

Board members include Martin Doyle, AIB Wexford (elected Vice President 2012); Orla Fortune, PricewaterhouseCoopers (elected Finance Director); Ann O’Brien, Kent Stainless; Philip Gavin, Talbot Group; Karl Fitzpatrick, Chevron Training & Development; John Forde, JNF Consultants and Frank Hynes, Hynes Jewellers. Newly elected board members include Imelda O’Hanlon, Star Recruit; Mark Thornburgh, Zurich and Kirk Brady, Celtic Linen.

Chamber Chief Executive, Madeleine Quirke commented, “In 2012 Wexford Chamber with the collective support of board members will continue to evolve the Chamber offering to deliver value to Members. We are particularly excited with our program of events for 2012 which has been developed in-house by our events manager in line with Members needs and requirements.
